He gets enough accolades and awards.
What about Louise Nicholas who fought on behalf of an entire gender as well as ensuring corruption and violence amongst the police force isn't so easy to hide.
She deserved it more than anyone.

It is a tiny bit disturbing that to be the best person in the country you simply need to be good at rugby. Obviously nothing else is quite so important.

Completely agree.....NZ is more than just Rugby.... I'm a little bias though, I simply cannot stand the game..I grew up in a rugby mad household, my stepdad was even a Ref and when it wasn't rugby season (while getting dragged to games that he Ref'd at while being completely bored) he had the whole collection of the springbok tour on videos that he would sit there and re-watch... Our bookcase would be full of biographys etc. My whole family is rubgy mad... Ick. |
