The government is about to spend more than $2.5 million of taxpayers' money building an abattoir for a disaffected Saudi businessman.
The kit-set abattoir is part of the Government's $12m attempt to appease him.

It has already given the influential businessman, Hamood Al-Ali Al-Khalaf, $4m and has flown 900 pregnant sheep to his farm - nearly all the lambs subsequently died.
Mr Al-Khalaf has opposed New Zealand getting a free trade deal in the region.
The Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce said $2.6m will now be spent building Mr Al-Khalaf an abattoir.
The abattoir will be gifted to the Saudi government then installed on the businessman's farm in the Saudi desert, which the Government said doubles as a New Zealand agri-hub.
However, Mr Joyce said there was still no movement on a free trade deal with the Gulf states.

They did come clean last year... The Saudi government was going to sue the ass off of our government.

Labour set up a deal with the Saudi government (A dodgy deal at best). But the the governments changed and National wasn't keen on the deal for many years. Until the Saudi Government threatened to sue our government. Then National had to not only play nicely, but grease the wheels to ease the tensions.

So if you would like to blame someone, this one is ALL Labour.

PS: I support neither Labour or National, just saying.

It all came out that it had nothing to do with labour, they just started a process for a free trade agreement, but would not even discuss some of the elements the Saudis wanted, the live sheep exports had to stop as the community did not accept them....... the Nats told them, that once they were in power, they would allow them.... they then reneged and that is what caused the whole drama.....

Then of course they set up one shipment of breeding animals, to circumvent the law, for this one person.

It then appears, that the claim that this saudi was going to sue us, was false.... a complete fabrication by this corrupt government.

So no, the only people you can blame, for spending OUR money to make rich friends for John Key.... is this government.

I am now a NZ first Voter.
