Lady luck was particularly generous to nine punters playing in Lotto's First Division draw on Saturday night.
The group of nine will split $1 million nine ways - equalling $111,111 each - just in time for Christmas.
"It's really exciting. We can't wait to meet the winners," said Emilia Mazur, Lotto's corporate communications general manager.
According to Mazur, this isn't the first time there have been nine winners of the First Division draw.
But there is a loose theory explaining why so many did just that on Saturday.
All of the winning numbers are under 31, so all the people who use significant days of the month or birth dates to pick their numbers had a higher chance of winning.
