Police have arrested a man in relation to the fatal shooting cold case of road worker George Taiaroa.
Taiaroa was killed on 19 March, 2013 while working at a road construction site in Atiamuri in the South Waikato.
On Wednesday a man in his 40s from Taranaki was arrested without incident at a Stratford property and is assisting police with their inquiries.

They have had their eyes on him since really early into the investigation.

Seems a little odd that it took 2 yrs to finally charge him.

Not really. They obviously didn't have enough to charge him and make it stick. Hopefully they have this time. Mind you - not having enough evidence hasn't stopped them before has it?  |

Maybe that why all the dotting the I's and crossing the T's they have been doing in recent murder cases.  Public opinions a bitch when it turns against you. |
