Police have arrested a man in relation to the fatal shooting cold case of road worker George Taiaroa.
Taiaroa was killed on 19 March, 2013 while working at a road construction site in Atiamuri in the South Waikato.
On Wednesday a man in his 40s from Taranaki was arrested without incident at a Stratford property and is assisting police with their inquiries.

Seems a little odd that it took 2 yrs to finally charge him.

Not really. They obviously didn't have enough to charge him and make it stick. Hopefully they have this time. Mind you - not having enough evidence hasn't stopped them before has it?

Maybe that why all the dotting the I's and crossing the T's they have been doing in recent murder cases. Public opinions a bitch when it turns against you.
