has made a paradigm shift in what is acceptable and what isnt i see the social experiments they have been running to see if the public care enough to intervene when clearly misanthropy is occurring it used to be that if you stepped into a situation you felt required your input was a bad thing to do interfering being a busybody now it is ok to step in and make your presence known for example a vulnerable teen being plied drinks by two adult males in a public place where the young lady is not capable of rational thought as a consequence of alcohol now requires public intervention whereas previously that was none of your business same with public displays of domestic violence not our problem but its ok now to step in in fact its expected taking the keys off a drunk driver taking the keys off a bad driver (tourist) is also ok now wasnt before kind of pisses me off a bit cos the amount of times ive stepped in and been vilified for it as being none of my business are numerous i suppose the fact that i have little self control at such times was before seen as a negative trait in my personality is now perfectly alright nz.news.yahoo.com/a/29939086/piccadilly-circus-uk-social-experiment-female-shaming-goes-viral/

im all for it the sooner we recognise drinking with a meal is not binge drinking we can be like the rest of the world
our youth need to see that to have a glass of wine with your meal is how it is supposed to be done the sooner we can do away with this binge drinking culture
we need to stop glorifying the social aspect of alcohol eg how many times have you heard someone boasting about how pissed they got in this country i lived in usa for 15 years and if you mentioned such a thing would be like saying im a heroin addict it just isnt something to boast about its seen as a social perversion
if we as a nation could just have a few quiets and go about our business without getting falling down drunk many of the restrictions in place to avoid such practice would evaporate much to everyones benefit
alcohol would be allowed in stadiums at a picnic in a public place one could have a beer at the races without having to stand in line for half an hour and then being allowed two drinks
at PacBell Park in San Francisco (and probly the other stadia as well ive not been to many) one can order drinks any drinks from your seat in the stand even general admission seats i never saw anyone drunk at a baseball game
the french are able to have a wine with lunch and go back to work we dont have the self control it would seem to not have ten wines with lunch
it makes us look barbaric to the rest of the world except perhaps ireland the uk and russia who might even be worse than us

Yep Agreed Boasting of ones ability to obliterate oneself with alcohol is cringy It's not difficult or admirable Meh
As for the video those actors were terrible!
It's funny eh Shit like this, and the little girl bullied at a bus stop are all over the net People nod and express disgust Tut tut But most likely wouldn't see any of their own personality traits reflected in the aggressor
Me? I would be in there, if it's obvious there's intimidation On a night out Or online Done it before Will do it again Especially if kids or sexual harassment is occurring
I've told off plenty in my time I've dealt with, and in some cases reported domestic violence Assault Sexual abuse Physical abuse Workplace, school and online bullying Fair game

its hard on the general populous to stand up tho its like public speaking you either can or cant for years we have been told to keep out of it now we find ourselves being criticised in social media for not doing so
i once got beaten up (one of many) at a dire straits concert (hospitalised) cos some arsehole called my girlfriend fat four of them beat the shit out of me when i retaliated no one stepped in
after that i vowed that i would never be an onlooker and have stuck by that and taken quite a few lumps because of it

Yep I will remember the Flagons of Beer. A staple part of a Sunday in my house when I was younger. And a quick trip to the back entrance of a well known establishment for more if 2 wasn't enough. Are they really closing the Brewery?

when i got my license (age 15) it became one of my tasks to pick up dads beer from the Oxford Bottle Shop
this consisted of a crate (held 5) glass flagons of the amber medicine poured fresh from the tap in front of me capped re-crated and stowed in the boot
from memory i got change back from ten bucks which i spent on eskimos at the dairy

A friend of my mothers took up basket weaving and she weaved me a cane basket with handle for my 1/2 gallon jar. I still have that just below my chair now, as a rubbish container. Can take a pic if you wish.
