An elderly man was made a "pauper" during his lifetime, as his son spent his money and deprived a teenage nephew of his half-share, a judge says.
Kenneth Vernon had assets worth nearly $330,000 when he went to live with his son in March 2006.
He died aged 91 in September 2011, with just $1400 to his name.

We rented a house years ago and it went up for sale.
This poor wee old lady, looked like she was in her 100s
liked the place and told us her (thought he was a friend)
who she was living with, borrowed money off her and kept
borrowing eventually becoming upset if she didn't give him
any money.
She was looking for a house to spend her money before he got
his hands on it the poor wee lady. She eventually found a house.
She had no family. That friend she was living with needed a smash.

The caregiver I had last year I thought was great. Used to take Rosko on tramps etc. Then one day she asked me if I had a will. The alarm bells started ringing, so I said I did, and made a point of saying that I had changed it a couple of times but had no intention of doing so again. Well from that day on her work deteriorated and so did her attitude, I tolerated it until just after Xmas and then got rid.  |

My brothers brother (we have a complicated family) took my brothers Mum to stay with him... her bank account was fleeced of over 180 K in six months...and when she died in his care... he tried to have a quiet service not letting my brother and his sister know...so they wouldn't find out he had stolen all her money.  |

That was just the end.... when her husband passed he left a million dollar insurance policy.... then she won over a million in lotto.... that was all gone by the time she moved in with my brother, she was down to her last 170k.....her other son of course, never left home while she was wealthy...except for short stints in jail for fraud........... He got the bash recently though.... ripped off the wrong person.... word went out...I saw his pic and let the corporation that was looking for him.... know where to find him, and what his real name was  |
