World speedway champion, Ronnie Moore passed away yesterday.
He started riding motorbikes when he was 13: riding in his fathers(Les Moore) Wall of Death.I remember seeing him in that show when they were a sideshow at a circus in Ashburton. He was only 13 or 14 then. He had a wonderful, successful life as a speedway rider both in NZ and overseas.
He was also very successful in the motor racing Grand Prix field in a Cooper car.It is sad to hear of his death, but I suppose he lived his life to the full, which is really all one can hope for. Thank you Ronnie for all the excitement you gave to many people.
