A man has suffered critical injuries after being attacked by a bull near Tahuna.

A man is fighting for his life after being attacked by a bull on a Waikato farm.

He was gored, causing life-threatening injuries, police said.

"[The man] received injuries from the bull's horns. He was seriously injured," Waikato senior sergeant Tim Anderson said.

Anderson said the incident happened on an Old Hill Rd farm near Tahuna.

The attack occurred at midday on Saturday.

No further details were available.
