#1 son's school band (three 11 year old boys) has reformed with a new guitarist. Not sure what he's like, but the drummer is great and #1 not too bad on the bass.
So anyway, have been trawling net for some playlist songs. Hard, since any dodgy lyrics aren't appropriate, and trying to avoid full on guitar solos.
Three chord wonders is what we need. The boys like all the usual older stuff like Nirvana and Greenday
Any suggestions?
So far here's some ideas
Passenger - Iggy Pop
Almost anything by the Ramones, I don't Wanna Grow Up I reckon would be cool
Get it On - T Rex, not sure if "dirty and sweet" is okay though.
I Don't Want To Grow Old - kiwi band Mint Chicks, used on a bread ad recently. Love this.
Basket Case - Green Day
Lithium - Nirvana. Not sure about the horny bit though.
Help!

Good luck. As I don't have a musical bone in my body, I can't help you.

Smooth Criminal Perfect
There's a bit in The Killers Somebody Told Me bass line that we are playing right now that's a direct rip of that bass riff

Thats so awesome. Nirvana, smells like teen spirit. Popular song, geez i love youth in bands. Just the whole excitement of seeing them gel and sound tight. Awesome. Missys Sons band.

Did you see the vid of that?
They are coming along well #1 has the bass wired for one. Even I can play it now. It gave me a blister what's more!
The other is more complex but he's surprised me. It's right up and down the frets, very fast.
Sometimes your kids surprise you, huh Very proud of my long haired rocker
